About This Project

SurveyWorx were commissioned to manage & deliver the Structural & Environmental Monitoring Specification, working in collaboration with the Construction Teams across the Project. Monitoring Data would provide the Structural Team with critical information in Real-Time relating to the structures behaviour during the different phases of the Project.

Oakmount House was Grade II listed Property spread across 4 Floors (Lower Ground, Ground, First & Second Floor) located in North London. The Project would extend, retain & restore the existing Building to provide additional Bedrooms, Swimming Pool, Sauna, Gym & Cinema.

Survey Methodology & Project Delivery

Using a combination of the latest integrated Automated Structural Monitoring Tilt Sensors & Automated Environmental Monitoring Sensors Monitoring Data was Captured/Recorded across the Project. Real-Time Sensors were installed on Site, with Real-Time Data captured at 1 Minute Intervals with Monitoring Data presented both Graphically & Numerically.

Environmental Monitoring Solution

Automated Web-Based System

  • 3 No. Vibration Monitoring Sensors
  • 3 No. Noise Monitoring Sensors
  • 3 No. Dust Monitoring Sensors

Web-Based Processing & Presentation

Data was sent Automatically to a 3G/4G GateWay pushing data to the Monitoring Software Suite; a Web Interface to display the data on-line, to view & download.

Structural Monitoring Solution – Automated Web-Based System

  • 80 No. Tri-Axial Tilt Sensor Nodes

Real-Time Tilt Sensors were installed on Site, with Data captured at 1 Minute Intervals & sent Automatically to a 3G/4G GateWay.

Web-based Processing & Presentation

Data was sent Automatically to a 3G/4G GateWay pushing data to the Monitoring Software Suite; a Web Interface to display the data on-line, to view & download.

Automated Notifications when Trigger Levels/Limits are exceeded.
Download a CSV file directly from the Web Interface.
Access Real-Time Live Data via Web-Based Platform.
Email & SMS Notifications/Alerts.

Total Station & 3D Monitoring Targets

65 No. 3D Monitoring Prisms/Targets were fixed to the Retained Facades with Readings/Observations taken at Weekly Intervals across the Project. Data was presented both Graphically & Numerically as changes to Eastings (Lateral Movements), Northings (Longitudinal Movements) & Elevation (Height Movement), typically to within +/- 1mm.

The resulting Data provided indicators to predict possible issues relating to potential Ground Settlement or Collapse.

Delivery & Output

Weekly & Monthly Monitoring Reports were issued to the Client/Final Customer.
